Notebooks?
Maybe.
The pages of notebooks can be composted as normal paper, with a benefit had from tearing or shredding them up first.
Hard covers should be removed first: cardboard covers can be composted as normal, but you shouldn't compost it if it's glossy or uses coloured inks.
Plastic covers can't be recycled.
